Have you heard of the Bill that Congress is trying to pass? It is supposed to be a budget bill, but they are loading it up with all kinds of other stuff that they don’t think they could get passed if you knew what was in it. It passed the House by just one vote and now the Senate is hashing it out…and in some ways may make it even worse

I’m sure most of us don’t want our taxes to go up, and that is fair. Many, if not most of us live paycheck to paycheck. A tax hike would be devastating. But what if we made a million dollars a year? Would it mean a smaller yacht, a shorter stay on the French Riviera, or putting off buying that third house until next year? Would paying more taxes really hurt those people? The fact is that some of the very, very rich use loopholes and pay a lower rate than the rest of us. And in the BBB the super rich get even more tax breaks. Obviously we don’t want the country to go deeper and deeper in debt, so why should we be giving these people a big tax break? Ask your congressmen, because I don’t know.

So what are they doing to “balance the budget?” They are making cuts to Medicare, Food security programs, and selling off public lands to the rich.
